Angela Saurine is a freelance writer, copywriter and editor based in Sydney, Australia who specialises in travel, food, lifestyle and social issues. She was named Best Travel Writer in the AFTA National Travel Industry Awards in 2012 and was a finalist for Best Responsible Tourism Story in the 2013 Australian Society of Travel Writers Awards and a finalist for Travel Photographer of the Year in the 2014 awards. Angela writes regularly for News Corp Australia's national travel section Escape and The Daily Telegraph's BW Magazine. She has also had stories published in Virgin Australia's inflight magazine Voyeur, Jetstar Magazine, Sydney Taste, Mindfood, Luxury Travel, Get Lost, Vacations and Travel, Woman's Day, Yours and SnowsBest. Angela graduated with a diploma in journalism from Macleay College in Sydney in 1996. She completed her cadetship at Cumberland Newspaper Group, where she was a finalist for Young Journalist of the Year in the 2000 National Youth Media Awards. After two years travelling overseas she started work at The Daily Telegraph in 2004 and worked in various rounds, including real estate, Sydney Confidential and social affairs before becoming national travel reporter for News Corp (formerly News Ltd) in 2009. Her role involved writing news and features for Escape.com.au, which appears in News Corp's Sunday papers and websites around the country, including Australia's biggest-selling newspaper The Sunday Telegraph, before leaving to pursue a career in freelance writing in late 2013. She is a full member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers.
